SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR AMPUTEES

Ye Notorious Krewe of the Peg Leg Pirate, Inc. is pleased to announce Scholarship Fund awards.  The Fund is used to assist with the educational expenses of college and trade/technical school students who are amputees.  The members of the Krewe believe that education and training provide that additional step to success.

Through June 2012 the Krewe has awarded 40 scholarships totaling more than $46,000.  The students are attending schools in a number of states including Florida, Massachusetts, Colorado, Ohio, Rhode Island, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, North Carolina and Jamaica.  All those awarded scholarships maintained at least a "B" average during their high school years.

Deadline for application is March 31 for the following school year.  Click here for the application. During April the Board of Directors will discuss the recommendations made by the Scholarship Committee and awards will be announced in June with funds dispersed in July.  The number of awards and the dollar amount available each year will be solely dependent on the revenue from our fundraisers.
