James lost his nose to cancer.  After surgery, aggressive radiation and a long recuperation, his life was saved but his nose had to be amputated.  Because of his appearance he only went outside when absolutely necessary.   He had no insurance to cover the cost of the replacement.  In cooperation with the Brown Cancer Center in Lexington, KY the Krewe paid for the new nose.  James said he,  "would be forever blessed and thankful to the Krewe for giving him back his normalcy."
